Simona Milanese, is a physician, official psychotherapist and researcher of the Strategic Therapy Center, directed by prof. Giorgio Nardone. She is registered at the Asti Medical Association (n°1627) and licensed to practice psychotherapy (art. 3 L.56/89).
After graduating cum laude from the University of Pisa Medical School, she moved to the United States where she completed a Residency in Internal Medicine and a Fellowship in Hematology-Oncology. She then moved back to Italy and, after graduating with honors in Medical Oncology at the University of Turin, worked as a Medical Oncologist in Asti Medical Center.
Caring for oncology patients, she developed an increasing interest in the power of communication and the importance of therapeutic relationship, culminating in a book on strategic communication in medicine, “Il tocco, il rimedio, la parola” (“The touch, the remedy, the word”) written with Roberta Milanese.
To master communication skills and the strategic model, she first graduated in “Strategic Problem Solving, Communication and Coaching” at the Strategic Communication, Problem Solving & Coaching Managing School in Milan, then got a “Trainers’ trainer” diploma at the Strategic Therapy Center in Arezzo.
She then specialized in Brief Strategic Psychotherapy at the Strategic Therapy Center in Arezzo, directed by prof. Giorgio Nardone, recognized by the MIUR (University and Scientific Research Ministry).
She practices psychotherapy in Italian and in English, which she speaks fluently.
Certified by Paul Ekman International in Emotional Skills and Competencies (ESaC) and Evaluating Truthfulness and Credibility (ETaC). Certified trainer of Paul Ekman International. Certified FACS (Facial Action Coding System) scorer.
